ImpactLABS was featured in the 2017 Dell Legacy of Good Annual Update, highlighting our work with three pilot projects that address food security and resource management. Dell, a major LABS sponsor, acknowledged LABS for using technology to advance human progress through net positive impact.
The three pilots highlighted include:
- The Port of New Bedford: Dell Edge Gateways capture video imaging of ships entering specific sensitive areas of New Bedford Harbor.
- Quansett Nurseries: Water well sensors provide real-time data on water supply, allowing growers to manage water use effectively and minimize waste.
- Salt Creek Vineyard: Micro-climate weather stations monitor climate factors affecting grapes and help determine the best time to harvest.
These three pilots illustrate the LABS commitment to deploy IoT to address grand challenges, specifically with food security and resource management for small businesses and small to mid-sized cities.
LABS is rapidly expanding work with Dell and other partners and sponsors, including Analog Devices, GE Digital, Initial State, PTC, V5 Systems and others.
